No Power
Yesterday we had a fire a ways down the road from our house. It burnt a power pole so we didn't have power until about 10 o'clock this morning. Having no power is a hard thing. You don't realize how much you need power until it's gone. We didn't have water (good thing we had some in the frig), almost all our food had to be cooked, all we really had to eat was cereal. We had to worry about stuff in our frig going bad, and we just bought two gallons of milk. My husband had to go to work without a shower. The TV and computer didn't work so my three year old was driving me crazy. Our air conditioning didn't work so it was like 80 degrees in our house. It was just a miserable time we had. The power did come on sooner then they said it would, but it felt like forever. I am just glad that I can take a shower now. The power goes out here all the time, but not for this long. We need to be prepared for anything, and we should have. This just makes me want to go out and buy stuff in case we have another bad power outage. Fire season is just starting, so anything can happen.
