Movie Night April 19th

I had a lot planned for this movie but we got busy and I never got to making the things I wanted to make for it.  I think the girls enjoyed it any ways.

We watched...

How to Train Your Dragon is one of Tyra's favorite movies.  She was excited to watch it this week.
I was having a hard time coming up with something for dinner, so I asked Shelby this morning if pizza would be ok for movie night.  Most little kids would be excited and say "ya lets have pizza", but not Shelby.  She asked me what we were watching and I told her, she said, "no, we have to eat, lamb, or chicken, or beef.  That's what they eat.  They eat meat!  I think we should have meatloaf!"
What kid asks for meatloaf.  My kids love meatloaf though, so I had no probably saying ok, we will have meatloaf.

So this is what our dinner was...
mini meatloaf, I made in cupcake pan.  The girls loved them.
Spinach
Mash potatoes
some berries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries
And Feta cheese, cause vikings had goats milk
And we had...

Root beer!  Cause the vikings drank lots of beer, but we could have beer now could we.
Tyra drinking her root beer
Shelby drinking her root beer
Shelby cheering with her dad
Shelby and Tyra Cheering
For dessert we had peanut butter oatmeal bars
The girls settled in to watch one of their favorite movies
Tyra gave it 3 thumbs up and Shelby gave it 2, so it's a 5 thumbs up movie.

Movie Night April 12th

Sorry this blog is a week late, but we have been busy, lots going on around here.
We watched...

Shelby was pretty excited about this movie, she got to dress up in a dress.

We have been busy so I really haven't been putting a lot of thought into our movie night.
We pretty much just ate dinner and watched the movie, nothing special.  Shelby did dance around though.

For dinner we had...

Blue Kool-aid
Shelby wanting some kool-aid
Lemon Poppy seed scones

We also had eggs and hash browns, but I didn't take pictures of those, but here is a picture of Shelby eating some

Tyra drinking kool-aid
Tyra also got rock candy, which they loved
Here is Shelby in her princess dress
Tyra not excited about being a princess
Now time to watch the movie with their dad, who looks excited about it
The girls enjoyed watching Cinderella.  Shelby gave it 2 thumbs up and Tyra gave it 1 of course.

James & the Giant Peach

We finally got to watch James and the Giant Peach.
I think the girls really enjoyed this movie, they were really into it and at the end of the movie Tyra asks, "that's not a real is it"  Which I told her no it was only a story.
I thought that was pretty funny she would ask that.

We enjoy some nice bbq hot dogs.  It was fun to go out and bbq on a nice day, even if all we cooked was hot dogs.
We also enjoyed some other yummy food, except I forgot the peaches.  How can we have a James and the Giant Peach party without peaches.  We'll we had a peach drink that Tyra didn't like.  She wouldn't have eaten the peaches either.

We had some yummy fruits and veggies
Peach juice
Hot Dogs
Some yummy lettuce

I think the girls really liked this dinner, but what kid doesn't like Hot Dogs.

After dinner we had some goodies.
Gummy worms, gummy butterflies and peach rings
We ate some Grasshoppers
We made some antennas to wear

After eating yummy goodies we made bugs out of egg cartons

Tangled

That was the movie we watched tonight for family movie night.

We didn't do a whole lot of special exciting things.
We just ate dinner and enjoyed the movie.
We didn't eat anything really exciting, stuff we would usually have for dinner.
Girls eating dinner
We had Sparkling cider, which Shelby loved.  She would drink it, then set her  cup down and say "more".  It was pretty funny.
Oatmeal Blondies (these were really good)
Spaghetti
we also had green beans and oranges but I didn't take pictures of those.
Shelby, her dad and Billie watching the movie
And Tyra
Then after the movie we had a little dance party while the credits were playing.
Shelby gave the movie 2 thumbs up and Tyra gave it 1.
Shelby said Rapunzel was a Blondie just like her.

The girls are really enjoying these movie nights, they are excited when it's Friday.
I'm glad I started it, it is good family time.
