Yesterday we got up at 6:30 in the morning to be at Mtn. Home to pick up a couple of baskets of fruits and vegetables. We ordered them through a group or company, I'm not sure what to call it. It is $15 a basket and you can get up to 3 baskets. They also have bread and other baskets you can get for an extra $10.
So we made it to Mtn. Home early that morning and waited in line. You pay for this all online so you just show your receipt. We got a lovely two baskets, it had...
1 Celery stock
7 corn on the cob (they look beautiful)
9 cherry tomatoes
1 container of blueberries (they are yummy)
1 container of strawberries (they look good, but haven't tried them yet)
2 chayote (have no idea how to cook them, they are a squash)
1 cantaloupe (yummy)
5 apples
5 oranges
9 green bananas
1 head of romaine lettuce (also very yummy)
I think it was worth $15. I don't know how much it would all come to in a grocery store, but it will most likely be more then $15. I am thinking about getting the bread next time, you get 5 loaves of 9 grain loaves.
If anyone is interested they have pick up places all over the United States. A ton in Idaho. We go to Richard McKenna in Mtn. Home to pick it up. Here is the website, /www2.bountifulbaskets.org/
They only have between these times to order, Monday at noon to Tuesday evening. But you probably don't want to wait to long because they go fast. You also have to pay for the baskets online. I think it's worth it. It's all so yummy! Check it out!
