First day of school

Well, Tyra started her first day of first grade on Tuesday. She's growing up. SO far she really likes it. But it's only the first week. The first two days she was up and ready to go, but today she was a little slower. I think the waking up early is getting to her. I know it's getting to me. I keep telling her she has to go to bed early, I should take my own advice.
Tyra has a lot of friends in her class. Her teacher is real nice. I think we are going to have a good year. Now only if Shelby could go to school. She keeps telling everyone that she's home schooling, which we will probably do starting September. My girls are growing up. I love them so much.

I got a little to happy with the camera!

1 WEEK!

I finished the book The Lovely Bones last night. I finished it in one week. I am surprised I was able to get it read that fast with everything that has been going on around here, but I did it. It was a good book. Kept me interested. It is a little disturbing though. I watched the movie today and I defiantly like the book better, which usually happens. The movie was good and all, but the book was better. I don't like it when movies leave out important things and this movie left a lot out. So I guess if you never read the book and just watched the movie, the movie would probably be good. So if anyone is interested, it is a good read.

The Lovely Bones

I just started this book. I am pretty excited about reading it. I heard the movie was good, but I wanted to read the book before I watched the movie. Hopefully I can get it read with in a week so I can get back to my other book that I am reading, which is also interesting. I own my other one The Lovely Bones I checked out at the library so I have 2 weeks to read it. I'll let everyone know how it is and if it's worth reading. Unless you all have read it.

Ready For School?

Well I better be. School starts Tuesday. TUESDAY!!! I can't believe how early it is this year. We do get out really early though. I think it is May 19th or sometime around that date. I don't know if I am fully prepared for school, but I don't really have a choice. Tyra is now in 1st grade and will be going all day long. I will miss her very much. We were lucky to get the teacher we were hoping for. I'm hoping Tyra will like her. I'll have to let her teacher know that Tyra thinks she knows everything and will probably correct her many times. I just want Tyra to like school. I am also ready for her to go. Today when I was really her and Shelby a book Tyra said to me "Mom, I think you need glasses because you aren't ready this book very well." I looked at her with shocked eyes. Did my 6 year old just say that? I said back to her, "well if you don't like my reading then you go over there and read your own books." I couldn't believe she said that to me. What am I going to do with her? So her teacher has a lot coming her way.

Shelby felt a little left out this year, so I am going to home school her. We are going to have preschool at home. She is really excited about it. I am hoping to have it all ready by September so we can start. She turns 4 this September. I can't believe it. My girls are growing up. So if anyone has any good websites to visit to get some good info for preschool please share. I need all the info I can get. I think we will have a busy school year, I am just hoping it will go fast just like summer did.

Walk Off Weight!!!

Is it that simple? I sure to hope so. I picked up a magazine to day at the BX. I have noticed it last month, but I told myself that I was going to by it this month. Everytime I seen it in the store it gave me moviation. Now that I have have bought it and read most of it I am super motivated. The Magazine is Prevention Walk Off Weight. It's not a small magazine it is more like a book. It wasn't cheap ether. It was $9.99. That's a lot for me, but I really hope I put it into good use.

I am hoping to get into a routine when Tyra starts school next Tuesday. It has some really easy work outs and even good food to eat. It's all common scene, but for some reason I need a magazine to tell me all of this. It even has a website, www.prevention.com, check it out.

I am pretty excited about losing weight. I just wished I stayed excited about it. I would like to lose at least 10 to 20 lbs by January. That seems like a huge goal, but I think I can do it. I just wanted to share with everyone my excited buy today. I bought my girls clothes and bought me a weight loss magazine. Exciting huh. Well I am off to dream about losing weight.

Dutch oven cooking

Yesterday was the Larson's dutch oven cook off. We all had a lot of fun. Jeremy and I both made a dish. Jeremy made his famous chili and I made a new dish that I have never made before. I made Crispy Ranch Chicken. Both of the dishes turned out really good. All the food there was really good. We enjoy eating everything and visiting with family. My brother Erik made some really good rib-lets. He ended up winning 3rd place. I won 2nd and Aunt Debbie won 1st. I don't remember who won the other categories. Jeremy didn't win and I thought he should have. Maybe next year if he gets to go. We did win 5lbs of ground beef, can't go wrong with that.

Other then the food the kids had a blast. They had a fishing pond where the kids got some cool toys and they also had some candy thrown at them. They all had fun hanging out with each other and playing. I got some pretty cute pictures of the kids. We were lucky to have my sister Katie and her family there. My girls love to play with the Bartlett kids. Hanna and Shelby were almost inseparable. We are so glad that Grandma and Grandpa Larson were able to put this all together. I know it is getting hard for them to do, but we look forward to it every summer. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa, you guys are wonderful. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful family.

Sorry I haven't been much of a blogger lately. My summer has been a little crazy, but it's been fun. I am glad my family and friends have kept up with their blogs, because I still find time to read them. Hopefully I will be posting more blogs, but no promises.
